CATTLe

Fruit Hill Farms Cattle

Our beef cattle are Angus crossed with standard breeds. We use a mix of purebred Angus dams, purebred Hereford dams, and commercial cross females. Our breeding criteria is for ease of calving and superior meat production. For breeding, we use both artificial insemination and natural cover with a bull. Our goal is to produce a highly marketable crossbred Angus percentage calf.

Currently, at Fruit Hill Farms we plan and breed for spring calving March through May. Our calves spend the summer on pasture with their mothers and are weaned in the fall. At that time the calves are evaluated for soundness and carcass traits. Those that make the cut are retained to feed out for meat sales or replacement herd heifers. Our calves are ready for sale in October. If interested in a calf for a youth show project for 4-H or FFA, feeder calves, or breeding heifers, contact us for availability and to make arrangements for a visit.

CATTLE Sales

4-H or FFA Show Prospects

Each year, when the calves are weaned in the fall, we offer youth an opportunity to view the calves for potential show prospects. Calves are sold green (not halter broke) unless arrangements are made to have them green broke. Contact us if you are interested in viewing calves and to inquire about pricing.

Heifers

Because we evaluate our calves for soundness and body condition, we only retain the best for breeding heifers. Some of these may be for sale. If interested, please contact us.
